When I first suggested these kids lie down...on the ground, they were skeptical. Then they figured out how funny it could be.

Toothless ~ Seattle Family Photographer
This is a favorite face---toothless! I know it's very close-up. This was a quick candid shot that I had to get because I just love those toothless smiles.

First Day ~ Seattle Family Photographer
I just love the new hair and the tiny feet. These photos are over two years old. I vistited friends at the hospital and just had to take photos of their baby. I wasn't using an especially good lens (didn't have one yet) but even back then I knew I wanted to spend more time with my camera.
Note to photographer-self: Offer The Pregnant Italian some photography when her new babe is born.

Wiggly Tooth
Perfect portraits are fantastic. I mean, who doesn't want to have a perfect family portrait or perfect photo of their child? In addition to all that perfect, what I really love is the "right now" photo: the image of a child concentrating on a game, that first bike ride, stumbling over a jump rope, screaming, laughing with a contorted face or just pointing at that first wiggly tooth.

Look at this leaf ~ Seattle Family Photographer
This is the first child I ever photographed in a "session". After I requested volunteers, his parents graciously let me photograph their family back in early November 2010. It was my first outdoor session with a family group and learning to assemble two under-five boys with the parents was a learning experience for me. I'm looking forward to practicing my photography more with this fellow and his older brother soon.

Sisterly Love ~ Seattle Family Photographer
I have known these beautiful children since they were in diapers. I photographed them in early December. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and learned so much about managing both dappled light and a super-excited preschooler.
Note to photographer-self: Don't let the kids do silly photos until they've satisfied the serious shots requirement first.
